August 10 at 11:29 p.m. Child Care Partners lost the Huey Learning Center to a severe thunderstorm.

Though no one was hurt, lives were far from unaffected. Over 50 children were displaced, and with power outages across all five centers, 0 children were able to receive childcare on Friday. In fact, the building won’t be seeing any children for a long, long time.

A mother stopped by the center to look for her daughter’s blanket. It was handmade by her grandmother and was lost to the wreckage.
